Earlier this year as Covid-19 accelerated it’s spread across the globe we supported several clients with their urgent need for PPE in the form of protective face masks. Unfortunately as global demand increased the supply chain lost control with escalating prices and uncertain delivery. There was also a shortage of cargo space hiking up shipping costs. As a consequence we had to decline further involvement and stepped aside.
I am pleased to say that the supply chain is again under control and prices have stabilized. As such we have agreed to supply clients with certified N95 masks.

China’s Golden Week holiday will be on us soon with factories closed during the first week of October. We have had a golden September with 11 days of factory acceptance test and a further 4 days already booked for October. It’s been a while since I posted an update and apologies to the almost 250 sales people who have sent me invites to connect on Linkedin which I’ve not yet read. Priority has been responding to demand for FATs and product sourcing and there are signs of an upturn. During Q1 and Q2 we continued to handle FATs but were at around 50% of typical for the period. Already Q3 is 27% above average and we have have only just started September. May was a quiet month for just about everyone involved in LED screens but we were able to stay busy with some P1.5 high bright indoor LED product and am pleased to contribute to the global battle against Covid-19 shipping 21.5″ LCD displays with high capacity 3L sanitizer dispenser, IR temperature sensor, multi-lingual temperature display / announcement and warning of low reservoir level. On March 11th I posted that after a month of factory closures we had relaunched with 5 days of consecutive FATs during the first week March but unfortunately we all know what happened next. Thankfully we had set up an experienced Shenzhen based team late last year so despite quarantines, travel restrictions, and lock downs we were able to continue to complete additional FATs during March and April mainly on fixed installation projects, and have continued to support our clients working on their LED screen projects hoping for a better second half. 2020 saw us off to a great start with a busy LED display screen FAT schedule up to CNY and while CNY brought a welcome break, and unfortunately Covid-19 forced an unwelcome extended break, we have relaunched completing 5 FAT days in the 1st week of March.
